Back in Action

I’m back. After a nasty bout with the flu I can tend to my blog again. There’s lots to cover off, too. I promise more regular updates this week.

Things with Sophie have had their ups and downs. We had a good couple of dates since I last blogged. She’s really into her music and introduced me to a lot of new bands like Friendly Fires and Late of the Pier. Much poppier stuff than I normally listen to, but it’s fun. And so is she.

The only down side is that because she’s so outgoing she gets a lot of attention, especially from other guys. I guess that groupies come with the territory, but they kind of make me uncomfortable. I’m never sure how to handle myself when they are around. I went to one of her gigs last weekend and there were a few guys paying her a lot of attention, buying her drinks, etc. She’s made it clear that she’s happy with things with me, but I just wish I was more confident and knew what to say in those situations.

Seems that problem is spreading to Gabby my parrot too. She’s been talking less and less. Maybe I need to spend more time with her. It gets dark so early now and I’m busy with work, she might just be sad.

Work has been okay. Lots of marking to do keeps me at my desk. But the chair is old and can’t be adjusted. It’s really starting to hurt my back after a couple hours of sitting at a time. I wish there was something I could do.
